Mexico City, August 14, 2018 – As part of the ongoing digital transformation process at Walmart de México y Centroamérica, starting today, customers in Puebla will be able to install and use the new Walmart Cashi app, a first of its kind in the Mexican market.
With the innovative Cashi app, customers can load cash directly onto their mobile phones and use it as digital currency to make digital payments and shop online – easily, safely and without the need of a credit or debit card.
“We are proud to launch Cashi and are confident that with this new platform, our customers will have an opportunity to access new digital services like never before, saving them time and helping them live better” said Gabriela Buenrostro, Deputy Director of Corporate Communications for Walmart de México y Centroamérica.
The company will release the product gradually, starting with Sam’s Club La Noria, Superama La noria and Sam’s Club Hospital General, until reaching full coverage of all stores and membership clubs in the State of Puebla. The app will be released on Android and shortly after available on iOS.
In addition to Superama and Sam’s Club, Cashi will soon be available on all other Walmex baners, including Bodega Aurrera and Walmart – across the entire country of Mexico. In the upcoming months, the app will introduce new features that drive additional benefits for its users.
To date, Walmart de México y Centroamérica operates 104 retail locations in the state of Puebla: 28 Bodega Aurrera, 40 Bodega Aurrera Express, 19 Mi Bodega, 5 Sam’s Club, 3 Superama and 9 Walmart stores. The compay has invested more than 6,290,000 Mexican Pesos in the State of Puebla, and created more than 7,782 direct positions as well as 5,135 indirect roles.
